The 9 directory operators not on the list are not accused of anything by that fact; they are asking you to take crew treatment on faith. How we read the list

A member of staff opens the IMEC partner page, records every company name, country and website exactly as shown, and saves the read with its date. We do not scrape and we do not use any API. The register is republished here so climbers can check a claim against a dated copy and follow the link to what else we know about the company. Past reads: 4 September 2026 (170). Questions people ask

How many KPAP partner companies are there?
170 companies appear on the IMEC Partner for Responsible Travel list as read on 4 September 2026, 67 of them based in Tanzania. The number moves as companies join or are suspended, so check the date on any figure, including this one.

Does being on this list mean an operator is good?
It means their treatment of mountain crew is monitored by an organisation with no stake in their sales and has met the wage, load, food and shelter floor recently. It says nothing about guides, safety equipment, itineraries or price. Treat it as a filter, not a verdict.

My operator shows a KPAP logo but is not on this list. Why?
KPAP itself warns that companies use its name and logo without participating. Some listings are under a legal name that differs from the brand, and foreign brands are often represented by their Tanzanian ground operator. Search both names here, then email KPAP to confirm if you are still unsure.

How often is this page updated?
We re-read the register every quarter, keep every past read on file, and show who joined and who left between reads. The list on the IMEC site is the authority; ours is a dated copy with links.
