Every figure below was read off a public page or a public register, and carries a source and a date. Where an operator publishes nothing, we say so rather than leave it out. We don't rank operators, we don't sell climbs, and we get nothing if you book.
Early version, 28 operators. We are building this out in public. Figures marked computed are our arithmetic on the operator's own published price and the current TANAPA tariff. Nothing here has been checked against documents yet, and no operator has claimed their page.

The only operator here that names its Tanzanian ground operator: Big Expeditions, itself on the KPAP register. That transparency is exactly what the reseller question exists for.

Prices are quoted as total trip days, not days on the mountain. The 9-day Machame is a 7-day trek plus two lodge nights. We normalise to trek days so the park fee maths is right.
One of only two operators here (with Eco-Africa) publishing all four disclosure facts we track, including a porter day wage ($12-25).
Who runs the climbs is genuinely unclear from public sources: their about page describes an employee-owned Moshi operation since 2025, while Trustpilot's company description still calls them 'the exclusive agent for The African Walking Company in the US'. A claim would settle it.

Two-entity structure: the contracting party is Duma Explorer, Inc. (US, San Francisco), while ground operations in Tanzania run through 'Alika Africa', described as the Tanzania branch owned by co-founder Omary Ridhiwan; KPAP and TATO each list the entities separately (Duma Explorer/USA on KPAP; Alika Africa/Tanzania on both).

The weakest cross-platform picture in the directory: Trustpilot 4.3 from 2,458 (unpaid, so uncurated), company TripAdvisor 3.5 from 377, TourRadar 4.5 from 12,119, and a BBB grade of C+. All catalogue-wide rather than Kilimanjaro-specific - and precisely because none of it is invitation-driven, it is worth reading.

Their own terms state they work with local operators in Tanzania who are not their employees or agents. The Tanzanian company that actually runs the climb is not named anywhere on the site.
Owned by Lindblad Expeditions Holdings (NASDAQ: LIND) since April 2024 via Natural Habitat Adventures - the acquisition is not mentioned anywhere on thomsontreks.com, which still reads as a small family company.

Unusual structure: 'Team Kilimanjaro' is a US-established LLC that subcontracts separate locally-incorporated Tanzanian companies, all described collectively as 'we' in their own legal page.

A TripAdvisor Tanzania-forum thread titled 'Beware of Africa Scenic Safaris - SCAM!!' (posted about 2016) concerns a differently named outfit, 'Africa Scenic Safaris' of Arusha. The original poster writes 'There is a big and reputable company called African Scenic Safaris. Notice the difference', and a reply from an Arusha resident also distinguishes the two. The thread does not concern this Moshi operator.

The platforms tell very different stories: Trustpilot 4.9 from 16,024 (paid, invitation-driven) and TourRadar 4.7 from 12,732, against a company TripAdvisor listing at 2.9 from 221 - the lowest score any operator in this directory carries anywhere. All three cover the whole global catalogue, not Kilimanjaro; the Kili-specific signal is the Machame trip's 4.8 from about 50 on TourRadar.
Claims a 98% overall summit success rate on the Kilimanjaro page; no methodology, period or per-route breakdown is published.

The strongest published safety package in the directory so far: twice-daily medical checks, portable altitude chambers, 640L oxygen tanks, and helicopter-evacuation membership included in the price.
Thin public review base: 8 TripAdvisor reviews (5.0) on the main listing, a duplicate TripAdvisor listing with zero reviews, no Trustpilot profile (404) and no SafariBookings profile; Facebook and Google ratings could not be read.

Their published 8-day Lemosho group rate of $1,400 leaves about $36 per person per day after park fees, which lands in our implausible band. That is a question to ask them, not a verdict, but ask it before you book.

US-registered company (OneSeed Expeditions, LLC, Denver) whose terms say it acts 'only as an agent for any transportation carrier, hotel, ground operator, or other suppliers'; the site says 'we hire experienced guides from local communities' but does not name a Tanzanian ground operator or claim its own crew, so who runs the mountain operation is not published.

Booking Terms state that bookings are made with 'licensed franchisees in Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda, trading as Monkey Adventures'; no registered company name or number is published for any of these entities, and the terms are governed by Tanzanian law while the contact numbers are US and UK lines.

Business-to-business outfitter, not a consumer operator: the site states 'we are a business to business organisation' and offers white-label climbs to other tour operators - climbers will normally book it via a reseller under another brand.

The same climb, side by side: 8-day Lemosho
The itinerary our route guides recommend where the budget allows: better acclimatisation, quieter early days. Park fees are identical for everyone: $1,109 for eight days at the current TANAPA tariff, VAT included. Only 22 of 28 operators here publish an 8-day Lemosho price, which is itself worth knowing.

The same climb, side by side: 7-day Machame
The most commonly sold itinerary on the mountain, and the one almost every operator prices, so it is the widest comparison we can make. Park fees are identical for everyone: $956 for seven days at the current TANAPA tariff, VAT included. Subtract them and what is left is what each company has to run your climb: guides, porters, food, tents, transport and margin.
